IGCC organising songs by Anamika Tripura

bdmetronews desk Indira Gandhi Culture Centre is organising Rabindra Sangeet and Indigenous tribal Chakma songs by Mrs. Anamika Tripura at 6.30 PM on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the IGCC, House No. 35, Road No. 24, Gulshan-1, Dhaka.

 

Mrs. Anamika Tripura had her early education at Rangamati and Chittagong. She has done a course in music at Chayyanaut and also at Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre. She has also learnt from many celebrated singers like Dr. Sanjida Khatun, Mahadev Ghose and Late Ustad Motaleb Ali etc. She is an enlisted artiste of BTV.

 

Mrs. Tripura has given many performances in Bangladesh in Bangla Academy, Osmani Memorial Auditorium, National Museum auditorium, Officer’s Club, Dhaka and Chhayanaut. On the occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, she was invited by Government of India to perform at Purbasree Auditorium, Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre and Mohor Kunja, Kolkata. She was also invited to perform at International Bangla Festival and Book Fair held in New York in May 2015. Mowla brothers has published two books written by her. The first book contains translation of a few Tagore songs and other modern and traditional songs in ‘Kok Borok’, while the second book outlines her real life experiences, life in the hills, travelogues, short stories and reminiscences. Mrs. Tripura has released albums from ‘Laser Vision’ and Sangeeta.

 

Mrs. Tripura is the wife of Mr. Naba Bikram Kishore Tripura, Secretary of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Chairman, Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board and Chairman, Board of Governors, International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) Kathmandu, Nepal.
