bdmetronews desk ॥ Muktijodhas’ heroic struggle and great sacrifice during the Liberation War is written in the golden words in the History of Bangladesh. Their brave fight for justice and dignity symbolizes the image of the proud people of Bangladesh.
Recognizing the exemplary works of Foundation for the welfare of Muktijodhas, H. E. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, during his visit to Bangladesh announced gifting of two ambulances to the National Freedom Fighters Foundation on June 07, 2015.
National Freedom Fighters Foundation is a government registered organisation, established for the welfare of Muktijodhas. Their activities include providing education support to heirs of Muktijodhas, financial/material support to needy Muktijodhas and organising seminars, meetings and cultural programmes etc. to keep alive the spirit of the Liberation War.
Accordingly, in a programme orgainsed today in the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs two ambulances were formally handed over to the National Freedom Fighters Foundation. An ambulance each will be utilised in Dhaka and Chittagong area, respectively, for movement of Muktijodha patients from rural areas to city for treatment.
AKM Mozammel Haque, Minister of Liberation War Affairs, was the Chief Guest, whereas, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh was the Guest of Honour for the programme. AJM Nasir Uddin, Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation and Dr. SM Jahangir Alam, Chairman of the National Freedom Fighters Foundation, also participated in the event. Monoranjan Ghosal, Senior Vice President of National Freedom Fighters Foundation anchored the programme.
