bdmetronews : Over terror financing allegations Pakistan has withdrawn a female diplomat from its high commission in Dhaka on Wednesday.
The female diplomat’s withdrawal move came two days after the Bangladesh government asked Pakistan to withdraw her after allegations of her ties to terrorism in Bangladesh.
The diplomat was identified as the Pakistan High Commission’s Second Secretary (political) Fareena Arshad.
The immigration sources confirmed this to Samakal, this evening.
Earlier in February this year, another Pakistani diplomat, Mohammad Mazhar Khan, was also withdrawn from Bangladesh after intelligence dug out his involvement in terror financing and currency forgery racket.
Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) operative Idris Sheikh was arrested on November 29 and he made the confessional statement in this regard on December 6.
According to Detective Branch (DB) officials, Idris had conversations with the diplomat several times over mobile phone between June and July this year.
Pakistan, on the other hand, had reacted after the allegations brought out against their diplomat in Bangladesh.
